Kristine Weaver leads Centenary
with 16 shots

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Centenary women’s soccer team (3-6-0, 0-1-0 Mid-Con) travels to the state of Utah for games against Southern Utah (1-5-1, 0-0-1 Mid-Con) and Utah Valley State (3-4-1) Thursday and Saturday.

Coming off a 2-0 shutout win over Arkansas State Sunday, the Ladies look to capture their first Mid-Continent Conference point in Thursday’s contest against Southern Utah, played at Thunderbird Soccer Field, in Cedar City, Utah, at 5 p.m.

Continuing to lead Centenary in scoring and standing first in the Mid-Con in goals scored is freshman Stefani Robbs (Dallas/R.L. Turner). Despite playing only six of nine games this season, Robbs leads the conference with four goals scored, registering nine points with one game-winning goal.

Tied for 10th in the conference in goals, junior Bre Fletcher (Schertz, Texas/Samuel Clemens) has two goals and five points to stand second on the Ladies in scoring this season. Fletcher assisted on the game-winning goal, scored by Ashley Caldarola (San Antonio/Reagan), in Sunday’s contest.

Freshman Kristine Weaver (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) is tied for 10th in the Mid-Con with 16 shots in nine games, leading Centenary in shots this season.

Picking up her first shutout of the season Sunday, junior Ali Hilsher (Tulsa, Okla./Washington) has a 1.50 goals-against average and a .806 save percentage, standing fifth in the conference in both categories. Hilsher leads the Mid-Con with 54 saves, averaging 6.00 saves per game.

Southern Utah plays only its second home game of the season in Thursday’s contest against the Ladies.

The Thunderbirds are coming off a 2-0 loss to Oklahoma State Sunday, earning a 1-1 draw with Oral Roberts Sept. 15.

Leading Southern Utah in scoring after seven games is sophomore Shaley Ipson, who has two goals and four points this season.

Behind Ipson in scoring, junior Brooklyn Phillips and sophomore Erica Berlin both have one goal and three points. Phillips scored the Thunderbirds lone goal in the draw with Oral Roberts last week.

Making six starts in goal, junior Holly Davis has a 2.08 goals-against average and a .696 save percentage, with one shutout to her credit.

Playing in the United Soccer Conference, Utah Valley State split its games against Idaho and Gonzaga last weekend.

Starting all eight games in the midfield, senior Rebecca Petersen leads the Wolverines with two goals and six points. Senior midfielder Chelsea Stone stands second on the team with five points (2 goals, 1 assist), taking a team-leading 20 shots.

Offensively, Utah Valley State has outshot its opponents, 113-91.

In goal, both senior Kelley Thompson and junior Tasha Bell have four starts to their credit. Thompson leads the duo with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .793 save percentage, with one shutout.

Saturday’s contest between Centenary and Utah Valley State will be played at Wolverine Soccer Field, in Orem, Utah, at 2 p.m.
