Brittany O'Neal led Centenary
with two shots

OREM, Utah -- The Centenary women’s soccer team (3-8-0) fell 3-0 to Utah Valley State (4-5-1) Saturday at Wolverine Soccer Field, in Orem, Utah.

Utah Valley State took an early lead in Saturday’s contest, scoring in the 10th minute when senior Rebecca Petersen finished a corner kick by sophomore Addie Hair.

The Wolverines carried the one-goal lead into halftime, taking nine shots in the first half.

Three minutes following the intermission, senior Chelsea Stone scored her team-leading third goal of the season, increasing the Utah Valley State lead to two. Stone trailed the play, scoring on a cross to the top of the box by Brittany Call.

Megan Berrett added a late goal for the Wolverines, scoring on a penalty kick in the 89th minute.

Centenary junior Ali Hilsher (Tulsa, Okla/Washington) made eight saves in the loss.

Offensively, freshmen Kristine Weaver (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) and Brittany O’Neal (Nacogdoches, Texas/Nacogdoches) led Centenary with two shots each.

After playing the past two games on the road, the Ladies return to Mayo Field in their next contest, hosting Louisiana Tech Wednesday at 7 p.m.
