Ladies Compete in Fred Marx Invitational

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Traveling to Monroe, La., the Centenary women’s golf team competes in the ULM Fred Marx Invitational, played at the Bayou Desiard Country Club, Monday and Tuesday.

Hosted by Louisiana-Monroe, the Ladies are joined by Henderson State, Jackson State, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Sam Houston State, Samford, Texas State and Troy in this week’s tournament.

A Perry & Press Maxwell design, Bayou Desiard has a par of 72, stretching to over 6800 yards.

Leading Centenary in its opening tournament was junior Chloe’ Mims (Texarkana, Texs/Pleasant Grove) and sophomore Tracy Williams (Van Alstyne, Texas/Van Alstyne), both finishing in a tie for 16th in the Centenary Fall Classic, played Sept. 9-10 in Bossier City. Williams has the low round this season for the Ladies, carding a 78 in the second round of the Fall Classic.

Teams are set to play 36 holes Monday, resuming play Tuesday to play 18 holes in the final round.
