Danielle Bochat

ELMHURST, Ill.—Centenary sophomore volleyball player Danielle Bochat (Boerne, TX/Boerne) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in helping the Ladies to a pair of wins last week. The outside hitter tallied 62 digs in three matches while setting a new Centenary single-match record with 32 digs in a 3-1 win over Chicago State.

Bochat is the second Ladies player to receive the defensive award this season after freshman Lauren Fielding (Plano, TX/Plano Senior) was honored in the same fashion the week of September 5th.

Bochat began the week with eight digs in a 3-0 victory at Southern University and followed that up with the record-setting performance at home against Chicago State. She closed out the three-match stretch with 22 digs in a 3-1 loss to IUPUI. Bochat also collected 33 kills on the week, 10 of those came in her third double double performance of the season against CSU.

Bochat not only holds the Centenary record for most digs in a match, but she set the school mark for most kills in a match last season when she pounded down 30 spikes against Texas Southern.
