INDIANAPOLIS -- A Vangel Nacovski goal led IUPUI (5-6-0, 1-1-0 Mid-Con) to a 1-0 victory over the Centenary men’s soccer team (3-8-0, 1-2-0 Mid-Con) Saturday at Kuntz Stadium, in Indianapolis.

Nacovski, a junior midfielder, scored his Mid-Continent Conference-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season, heading in a cross from Cameron Williams in the 22nd minute. Williams was given enough time to play a service to Nacovski inside the Centenary penalty area, which Nacovski finished with a header from 10 yards out. The goal gives Nacovski seven on the season, leading the conference in both goals and points (15).

Following the goal, the Gents continued to attack the Jaguar net, however Centenary was unable to finish on any of its four shots in the second half. The loss ended a two-game winning streak for the Gents.

Shots were in favor of IUPUI, 14-5, in the game. Jaguars goalkeeper Drew Deffner made two saves for his fifth win of the season.

Taking a break from conference play, Centenary visits the University of Alabama at Birmingham Wednesday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
