TULSA, Okla.—The Centenary volleyball team fell at the hands of the Mid-Continent Conference’s preseason favorite Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on Friday evening 3-0 (10-30, 16-30, 16-30). The win was the 13th consecutive for ORU as well as the 13th straight home win for the Golden Eagles.

Centenary (8-14, 1-3 Mid-Con) struggled to find a rhythm offensively and hit just .051 for the match as a team. The Ladies trailed by just five points at 13-8 and 12-7 in both games one and three before Oral Roberts responded with runs each time to put the games away.

Oral Roberts (15-6, 4-0 Mid-Con) clicked on all cylinders led by senior Ori Zuzic. The Golden Eagles hit an impressive .414 for the match and finished the first game without committing a single error. Zuzic collected 19 kills and 11 digs for her 13th double double on the season. Cris Alves tallied a match-high 18 digs for the Golden Eagles while Maja Devic and Jackie Oliveira each added 11 kills in the win.

Danielle Bochat (Boerne, TX/Boerne) paced the Ladies with seven kills and also earned eight digs. Lauren Fielding (Plano, TX/Plano Senior) pushed her consecutive matches streak with double digit digs to 19 matches as she compiled 15 digs in the loss.

Centenary will look to regroup on Tuesday when the team heads to Ruston to take on Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. The Ladies close out the week with a pair of important home conference matches against Western Illinois on Friday (7 p.m.) and UMKC on Saturday (6 p.m.).
