SHREVEPORT, La. -- First-year head women’s basketball coach Steve Curtis and the Centenary women’s basketball team will hold a public Maroon and White Scrimmage Wednesday at the Gold Dome. The Ladies take the court at 7:30 p.m.

Fans are invited to attend Wednesday’s full intrasquad scimmage, with admission free to the public.

Picked eighth in the Mid-Continent Conference preseason poll, the Ladies open the season with an exhibition game against Harding University Nov. 6 at the Gold Dome. The 2006-07 regular season begins Nov. 11, with Centenary hosting Texas-Pan American at the Gold Dome. The Ladies face the Lady Broncs in the season-opener at 7 p.m.

Centenary returns eight letterwinners from last season’s team, led by senior guard/forward Holli Wilkins (Evadale, Texas/Evadale). Wilkins enters the season as the reigning steals leader in the conference, named to the Mid-Continent Preseason All-Conference team last week. Three starters from last season’s team, including Wilkins, return for Centenary entering the upcoming season.
