SHREVEPORT—The Centenary volleyball team welcomes Texas Southern University and Oral Roberts University to the Gold Dome for the final two home matches of the season. The Ladies will take on TSU on Thursday at 6 p.m. before wrapping up the home slate on Friday with a 7 p.m. match with Mid-Continent Conference leader ORU.

Centenary (11-21, 2-7 Mid-Con) has won three of its last six matches and has seen Lauren Fielding set two new school records in the last two matches. The freshman recorded 37 digs in a 3-2 win over Oakland last Saturday before collecting 20 digs in a loss to Central Arkansas that gave her the single-season mark of 547. She currently sits at 549 and with four matches remaining she could become the first Centenary volleyball player to reach 600 digs in a season.

Digs are not the only records on the verge of falling as sophomore Ashlee Freeman is three block assists shy of tying her own single-season mark set last season with 78. Right behind Freeman is freshman Rebekah Hill with 69 block assists and sophomore Rebecca Lunceford with 68. Currently the trio holds down second, third, and fourth places on the single-season block assists list. Freshman Christina Nichols (5th) and Fielding (8th) have also moved into the top 10 in service aces with 48 and 44 respectively.

Texas Southern (5-16) is coming off of a 3-2 win over Prairie View A&M in which the Lady Tigers rallied from an 0-2 deficit for the SWAC victory. Oral Roberts (22-7, 9-0 Mid-Con) has won five straight matches and 20 of their last 21 contests. Most recently the Golden Eagles defeated Wichita State 3-1 on Halloween.

The Ladies will also honor senior Stephanie Scanlan before Friday’s match with their annual senior day celebration.
