KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Centenary volleyball team will conclude its 2006 campaign with a pair of Mid-Continent Conference matches on the road this weekend. The Ladies will square off against UMKC on Friday in Kansas City, Mo., before finishing the year at Western Illinois in Macomb, Ill., on Saturday.

Centenary (12-22, 2-8 Mid-Con) split both of its matches last week in the Gold Dome with a 3-0 win over Texas Southern and 3-0 loss to Mid-Con leading Oral Roberts. The Ladies looked impressive against ORU, losing the second game 30-28.

Freshman Lauren Fielding (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior) collected 39 digs and is now just 12 digs away from becoming the first Centenary player to reach 600 digs in a season.

UMKC (6-22, 3-7 Mid-Con) split their league matches last week in falling to Valparaiso 3-0 before rebounding to defeat Oakland 3-2. The Kangaroos also played a mid-week contest against Drake on Wednesday where they lost 3-1. Lauren Starks leads the offense with 223 kills while Sarah Johnson is close behind at 222. UMKC defeated Centenary 3-0 in the first meeting between the two teams in mid-October in Shreveport.
