MACOMB, Ill.—The Centenary volleyball team wrapped up its season with a 3-0 (23-30, 20-30, 21-30) loss at the hands of Western Illinois on Saturday evening. The Ladies out-blocked the Westerwinds 10-9, but it would not be enough as WIU pushed by the Maroon and White for the victory.

Centenary (12-24, 2-10 Mid-Con) received solid efforts from sophomore Ashlee Freeman (Houston, Texas/Bellaire) and freshman Lauren Fielding (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior). Freeman was one of three Ladies to record a team-high seven kills while Fielding successfully collected 18 digs. Sophomore Danielle Bochat (Boerne, Texas/Boerne) and freshman Sarah Chambers (Plano, Texas/Plano West) also tallied seven kills in the loss for Centenary.

Western Illinois (14-14, 9-3 Mid-Con) held on to third place in the Mid-Continent Conference with the win and will serve as the third seed in the conference tournament next weekend at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla. Ashley Baker and Monique Houston each contributed 11 kills on the night and Jennifer Alexander added 19 digs.

With the Ladies season now at its end, the team will wait to see if any of its players are rewarded with All-Mid-Con accolades. The all-conference teams will be released during the upcoming week.
