Centenary will be heavily-tested
against TCU Saturday

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Centenary men’s swimming team visits TCU Saturday in a dual-meet at the TCU Student Recreation Center, in Fort Worth, Texas. The meet is scheduled for a noon start.

Competing against the Horned Frogs of the Mountain West Conference, the Gents will be heavily-tested in Saturday’s meet, looking to continue to build in their fifth meet of the 2006-07 season.

Centenary enters this weekend’s meet capturing first in both the Hendrix Classic and Hendrix Relays, held Nov. 3-4 in Conway, Ark. In the two meets, the Gents impressively captured 20-of-22 events, with all Centenary swimmers performing strong in their respective events.

Twelve Centenary swimmers have recorded Top 10 Times in the Mid-Continent Conference this season, led by sophomore Chase Lambert (Benton, Ark./Bryant).

This weekend against TCU, Lambert looks to continue to progress in his sophomore season, as he and the Gents work towards the end of the year conference championships.

Also recording Top 10 Times in four events and just in his freshman season, Jamie Stults (Allen, Texas/Allen) set the Gents record for the 100 breaststroke (1:01.22) earlier this season. Among the Mid-Con top performers in his respective events, Stults has the sixth-best time in the conference in the 200 individual medley (2:01.09) and the 400 individual medley (4:23.79), also in the top 10 in the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 1:02.93 and 2:18.62, respectively.

Freshman Cole McGee (Albuquerque, N.M./LaCueva) has the third-best time in the 1,000 free (9:54.74), while sophomore Bryan Myers (Round Rock, Texas/Round Rock) has the third-best time in the 50 free (21.99).

Saturday’s meet will be the first time this season the Gents have faced a team from Mountain West Conference.

Following Saturday’s meet, Centenary will have a month off from competition, next competing against St. Louis University, Dec. 19-20.
