of her program records last week.

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Centenary freshman Maggie Vaughan was named Mid-Continent Conference Female Swimmer of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Vaughan, a native of Clinton, Miss., had one of her most productive weeks of her young collegiate career in the Ladies two meets Friday and Saturday. Capturing four event wins in the two meets, Vaughan broke the program record for both the 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle, remaining undefeated in both events this season.

Among the conference elite in distance freestyle events, Vaughan lowered her own record in the 500 free to 5:07.60, also breaking her own school record in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:26.90.

Vaughan becomes the first Ladies swimmer to earn Mid-Con weekly honors this season. She and the Centenary women’s swimming program are in the midst of a month-long break from competitive action, facing St. Louis Dec. 19-20 in their next meet.
