AUSTIN, TEXAS—The Centenary Gents embark on a three-game road trip Thursday beginning with the University of Texas. The Gents will tackle the Longhorns at 7:05 p.m. and the game will be televised in the state of Texas on Fox Sports Net Southwest. Centenary will also face Texas State and Baylor on the road swing.

Centenary (5-7) surpassed its win total of all last season with its second consecutive win over I-20 rival Louisiana Tech in the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La., last week 82-73. The Gents committed a season-low 10 turnovers to overcome a 37-23 rebounding deficit in large part because of the play of guard Tyrone Hamilton. Hamilton finished the contest with 27 points and six assists with only two turnovers.

Bryan Baumann pumped in a career-high 18 points on the strength of five three-pointers to help lift the Gents to victory while Alexander Starr added 14 points.

On the season, Hamilton is averaging a team-best 15.1 ppg followed by the 12.4 average of Alexander Starr. Larry Logan is also contributing 10.8 ppg for the Gents.

Centenary is leading the Mid-Continent Conference in scoring at 72.5 ppg. However, Texas (8-3) is averaging 86.2 ppg and scored 105 points in its recent loss at Tennessee in overtime.

The Longhorns had won six of their last seven games until the Tennessee loss, which included a 76-75 win over LSU. Kevin Durant was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week after tossing in 26 points against the Volunteers.

Durant is leading Texas with a 21.6 ppg average while three other players are also producing in the double figures (A.J. Abrams: 16.6 ppg, D.J. Augustin: 13.6 ppg, Justin Mason: 10.2 ppg).

Texas leads the all-time series 8-6 and took the last game between the two clubs in Austin back in 2004 by the score of 97-52.

In addition to watching the game on Fox Sports Net Southwest, fans can also follow the action between the Gents and Longhorns in Shreveport on the radio via KSCL 91.3 FM or worldwide over the internet at www.SportsJuice.com.
