Ladies Gymnastics Travels to Texas Woman's

DENTON, Texas—The Centenary gymnastics team looks to get back on track Saturday when they battle Texas Woman’s University, Oklahoma, and George Washington in a quadrangular meet at 7 p.m. in Denton.


Texas Woman’s University enters the meet with a 1-2 record after falling to BYU and Central Michigan while defeating Brown. The Pioneers are averaging a score of 187.70 over their first two meets.


Oklahoma is the eighth-ranked team in the NCAA coming into Saturday’s contest and is 2-1 on the year with wins over Missouri and Central Michigan. The Sooners’ loss came at the hands of Alabama. Oklahoma is averaging a score of 195.31 through their first two meets.


George Washington is also 2-1 after just one meet. The Colonials defeated Cornell and William & Mary while losing to North Carolina with a score of 190.00.


Centenary is averaging 187.26 through its first two meets which has produced a 1-4 record. The young Ladies roster continues to build experience each weekend with hopes of coming together as a unit in time for the postseason. Freshman Courtney Hawkins has showed well with top 10 finishes on the vault and bars.
