DENTON, Texas—The Centenary gymnastics team placed fourth behind Oklahoma (195.600), Texas Woman’s University (191.275), and George Washington (189.500) at the TWU Quadrangular Meet with a team score of 187.950 on Saturday. Individually, six Ladies scores were good enough to place in the top 10.


Centenary (1-7) accumulated event scores of 47.025 on the vault, 48.050 on the bars, 45.125 on the beam, and 47.750 on the floor exercise.


The individual event winners all came from Oklahoma. Kiara Redmond won the vault with a perfect 10 and also grabbed the top spot on the floor and the all-around with scores of 9.875 and 39.350 respectively. Brittany Koncak tallied a 9.900 on the bars to claim first while Lori Winn’s 9.875 on the beam was tops on the night.


Centenary’s top 10 finishes included a ninth place effort by Meredith Smith on the vault with a 9.625. Kristina Menne was fifth on the bars (9.775), ninth on the floor (9.700), and fourth in the all-around (37.725). Jessie Angus nabbed sixth place on the bars with a 9.750 and Bethannie Bowie’s 9.625 on the beam placed her fifth.


The Ladies will gear up for their first home meet of the 2007 season on Friday when they host Illinois State and TWU at 7 p.m. in the Gold Dome.
