On what the team looks to accomplish against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi…

This weekend will give us an opportunity to look at a different number of individuals. We want to develop as a team and show each other that hard work and trust pays off in many different aspects of the game.

On the preseason conditioning and the condition of the players arms and bats heading into the weekend…
The offseason program that Coach D (Mike Diaz) has established and implemented has paid dividends for us in the past. I believe you will see that as the season progresses on.

On any advantage for collegiate teams in the South in comparison to other regions…
The weather is indeed a plus. It allows us to practice nearly year round focusing on the small elements and aspects of the game. Practicing indoors is not the same as outdoors. For many reasons, it simply is not the same (wind conditions, sun conditions, etc.).

On any specific goals for individual players that the coaching staff has in place for this weekend…
We have individual goals for each individual on the team. The best goal however is team chemistry. The same goal for all is not to just get to the tourney (Mid-Con), but win it.

On any specific players development surprising the coaching staff…

The surprising players are the onest hat came in at the break, Cameron Penny and Dakota Robinson. Both are good chemistry fits for us, both are team players and both are great athletes, as well as outstanding students.
