On the three losses last weekend having any effect on the mindset of the players...

The baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint. Although I would have rather been 3-0, the game is tough enough without putting any other stress on my team.

They can be very good, but the only ones that can make that decision is them. The mindset is to win with this group. Losing can affect some teams just as winning can affect teams. This weekend will tell the story, can we bounce back? Only time will tell.

On what area needs the most improvement…
The area for improvement is the offense. We need to take better approaches at each at-bat, pitch by pitch.

On his feelings on the pitching after the season-opening series…
I felt that our pitching was good enough to keep us in games and win the majority of them, as always we have room for improvements. But all in all, the staff was good enough to win two games this last weekend.

On what Jackson State will bring to the table…

Jackson State will be a very good hitting team. They can rake. Can we respond and do a better job will be the only question that I have. They can run a little too, so we must be able to play outstanding defense for us to win the series. That's our goal.
