Larry Logan and Alexander Starr

SHREVEPORT—The Centenary men’s basketball team will welcome former Mid-Continent Conference member Chicago State to the Gold Dome on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the final home contest of the season. It will be the final home game in a Gents uniform for seniors Larry Logan and Alexander Starr. The duo will be recognized by their teammates and coaches for their hard work and dedication in a pre-game ceremony.

Centenary (9-18, 3-9 Mid-Con) enters the game after a tough loss to Oral Roberts 85-80 on the road Thursday night. The Gents erased a 15-point second half deficit to take the lead with eight minutes to play and eventually fell in the final seconds.

The Gents have played well of late despite missing Logan for three games following an injury. Starr has picked up the slack for his fallen classmate, averaging 21.3 ppg over the three-game span, which resulted in two Centenary wins. Sophomore Tyrone Hamilton leads the team at 16.1 ppg on the season.

Chicago State (9-19) is coming off of a blowout win last Saturday against East-West University 112-77. The Cougars are paced by David Holston’s 15.6 ppg and Royce Parran’s 14.7 ppg. Altogether, six Chicago State players are averaging in double figures on the year.

Chicago State holds the all-time series advantage 5-2 and won the last meeting between the two clubs on February 11, 2006, 77-69 in overtime in Chicago.

The game can be heard locally in the Shreveport-Bossier area on the radio at KSCL 91.3 FM and over the internet at www.SportsJuice.com.
