INDIANAPOLIS -- Alicia Booyer scored 21 points to lead IUPUI (12-15, 6-7) to a 73-55 win over the Centenary women’s basketball team (5-23, 1-12) Saturday at IUPUI Gymnasium.

Booyer went 7-for-15 from the field in Saturday’s win, hitting all six of her free-throw attempts in the Jaguars 18-point win over the Ladies.

Never trailing in Saturday’s game, IUPUI led 29-22 at the half, with Centenary outshooting the Jags for the first half, hitting 39.1 percent of their shots (9-23).

Following the intermission, IUPUI came out of the locker room on a 9-0 run, including two consecutive layups by Booyer to open the half.

Leading by 16, the Jaguars never trailed by less than 11 for the rest of the game, as Booyer and company shot 54.5 percent for the second half. In contrast, Centenary was limited to 33.3 percent from the floor, unable to get much production from beyond the arc. For the game, the Ladies shot 15.8 percent from three-point range, hitting three three-pointers in the loss.

Down 20 to IUPUI with 10:36 left in the second half, Centenary did fight hard to cut the lead to 11 following a jumper by Monique Jefferson (Birmingham, Ala.) with 5:31 left on the clock. Unfortunately for the Ladies, late baskets by Booyer and Jernisha Cann helped the Jaguars maintain a double-figure lead and capture their sixth conference win.

Cann had a double-double in Saturday’s IUPUI win, scoring 10 pionts and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds. She had six steals in 33 minutes of play.

Sophomore Cierra Bush (Campti, La.) led Centenary with 11 points in the loss, hitting 4-of-7 shots.

Passing the 1,000-point mark for her collegiate career, senior guard Holli Wilkins (Evadale, Texas) had seven points. Wilkins now stnads with 1,002 points for her collegiate career, becoming only the third Centenary player to score 1,000 points for their careers.

Centenary travels to Oakland Monday for a matchup at 7 p.m. in Rochester, Mich.
