CONWAY, Ark.—The Centenary volleyball team lost to the University of Central Arkansas 3-0 (18-30, 22-30, 19-30) on Tuesday night on the road. It was the second loss to the Sugar Bears this season, but there was good news as well as freshman Lauren Fielding broke the Centenary record for digs in a season.

Centenary (11-21) struggled offensively in the contest, only hitting for a positive hitting percentage in game two. The Ladies hit .068 for the match while Central Arkansas (16-15) swung at a .243 clip. Amicha Williams led UCA with 14 kills while Rachel Copley added nine kills in the win.

Ashlee Freeman paced the Ladies with seven kills and only three errors. Fielding collected a match-high 20 digs to extend her double-digit digs streak to 29 matches. She now has 549 for the season, surpassing the former Centenary record of 546 set in 2002 by Kelley Heckman. With four matches still to play, Fielding has the opportunity to be the first Ladies player to reach 600 digs in a season.

Fielding will get the next chance to add to her record on Thursday when the Ladies host Texas Southern at 6 p.m. Centenary will then conclude the home portion of its schedule with a Mid-Continent Conference match on Friday at 7 p.m. against Oral Roberts.
