Head Coach Rob Flaska

SHREVEPORT—Centenary head men’s basketball coach Rob Flaska has announced the signing of Jamere King to a National Letter of Intent. King joins Anthony Gatlin, Justin Glenn, and Tim Price, all signed in the early period, as the 2007-08 recruiting class for the Gents.

King (Tulsa, Okla.) signs with Centenary after averaging 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists during his senior season at Booker T. Washington High School. The 6’2” guard was named first team All-District, second team All-Metro, honorable mention All-State, and was a McDonald’s All-American nominee.

“Jamere is a combo guard who gives us someone with great ball skills and an understanding of the game,” said Flaska. “He can play the point, but also has a deadly shooting touch that allows him to play two guard. In addition, he is an excellent student with a 3.7 grade point average.”

King was selected to participate in the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-Star Game. He was also recruited by Air Force, Oral Roberts, Louisiana-Monroe, and Tulane.
