SHREVEPORT—The Centenary softball team looks to get back to its winning ways when it hosts Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday at the Centenary Softball Complex. The Ladies and the Warhawks will take the field for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

Centenary (19-24) has dropped its last seven games and needs a win to build momentum heading into a big Mid-Continent Conference series with Valparaiso this weekend.

Micah Rhodes has regained the form at the plate that has allowed her to break almost every Centenary offensive record over her career. The senior went 7-for-15 last week, including a 6-for-8 stretch in conference play, and also launched her second homerun of the season. She has her batting average back up to .320 and leads the Ladies with 24 RBI.

Louisiana-Monroe (22-33) broke a stretch where it had lost seven of eight games with a win over Louisiana Tech last week and then took one of three games from Florida Atlantic in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Warhawks are led offensively by Heather Williams and Lindsey Taylor. Williams boasts 11 homers and 42 RBI to go with a .276 batting average while Taylor adds eight more long balls and 35 RBI to a potent lineup. Lindsay Rittenhouse is 14-17 with a 2.59 earned run average in the pitching circle for Louisiana-Monroe.

The Warhawks hold the all-time advantage over the Ladies with a 14-17-1 record.
