Chase Wooten and the Ladies
bring in 12 players for next season

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Centenary and its women’s soccer team was recognized as having one of the best recruiting classes in the Mid-Continent Conference, announced by national women’s soccer website SoccerBuzz.com.

In the recently released conference rankings of recruiting classes of the nine-team Mid-Continent Conference, SoccerBuzz.com has ranked the Centenary women’s soccer team as having the second-best recruiting class in the conference.

Signing 12 players to National Letters of Intent for the upcoming season, Centenary head coach Chase Wooten sees all the incoming players ready to contribute and help the Ladies continue to build towards the future.

"It was one of those years where the scholarship situation worked out and we identified the needs of the team and addressed them," Wooten said. "Next season with our recruits and the players we have returning, we should be very strong, but young."

Ten players come to the Shreveport campus from high school teams, joined by two players who participated at the junior college level last season.

The Ladies, who finished the 2006 season with a 4-11-1 record, begin the 2007 season at Arkansas State Aug. 31.
