SHREVEPORT, La. -- Centenary men’s and women’s soccer announce the dates of the 2007 Centenary College soccer camps, with various options for players to develop their skills during the summer months.

For beginning to advanced players, the Centenary soccer camp will give players an opportunity to learn from both collegiate coaches and players while having fun in the process.

The summer camp schedule begins with an Indoor Camp, held at Shreveport Indoor Soccer Arena June 4-7 and June 18-21. For ages 5-10, the indoor camp offers players a chance to play in the comforts of an indoor setting, focusing on the technique and the skills needed for young players to develop.

From July 15-19, Centenary will conduct the Residential, Full Day and Elite Camps at Mayo Field on the Centenary campus.

The residential camp is the most popular camp during the summer session. In its 23rd year, the residential session allows players to fully expose themselves to camp experience. While staying on the Centenary campus, the residential camp will consist of morning, afternoon and evening sessions, focusing on both technical and tactical points of the game. Instructed by top-level senior staff coaches from several colleges, high schools and clubs across the region, the Centenary Residential Camp is aimed at players and teams serious about taking their game to the next level.

The full day camp allows players to stay at home while benefitting from the same instruction and program as the residential campers. Players will participate in all camp activities, with camp held from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Centenary Elite Camp, for ages 14-18, is tailored for senior-level players who are ready to train at the next level. Players will go through the same preseason workout that Centenary College players do in their preparation for their seasons. The camp is very demanding, highly competitive and is appropriate for the most experienced players.

The Centenary Goalkeeper Academy will be held July 15-19 and July 29-Aug. 2 at Mayo Field. Designed around the specialized training that is required for the development of goalkeepers, the goalkeeper academy is perfect for goalies who are passionate about taking their games to the next level.

Centenary will also host Residential, Full Day, Elite Camps from July 29-Aug. 2.

From July 22-26, Centenary hosts the Day Camp and Team Camp.

For ages 8-10, the Centenary Day Camp is a very rewarding and enjoyable experience for participants. With a very low player-to-coach ratio, skills are demonstrated and developed throughout the week, stressing the fundamentals of the game.

The Centenary Team Camp is perfect for groups of 13 or more players. By signing up as a group, this is an opportunity to train as a team and the camp will be tailored to fit each team’s needs and abilities.

The Lil’ Booters Camp, a favorite for young players aged 5-8, will be held July 23-26. Coached by the same staff that trains the more advanced players, Lil’ Booters stay indoors for the entire training session and focus on having fun while still learning skill. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

Tuition for all camps range from $100 to $325.
