The new site for the Summit League
officially launched Friday

ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Summit League, formerly the Mid-Continent Conference, today launched a new and improved Web site, www.thesummitleague.org.

The launching of the Web site is in conjunction with the renaming of the conference, which is part of the Summit Plan. Announced last month, the Summit Plan is a strategic plan that places a renewed emphasis on improving the academic and athletic performances of the student-athlete of the league’s member institutions.

Thesummitleague.org presents news, scores, statistics, history and more for every sports team in The Summit League. The site is designed to give fans access to information and programming about their favorite Summit League sports teams.

A key feature of the Web site is Summit TV, a subscription package which allows fans to view live video of all men’s and women’s basketball non-conference home games as well as all Summit League basketball contests. In addition, selected conference championships will be available on Summit TV.

Members of The Summit League as of July 1, 2007, will be Centenary College of Louisiana (CC), Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), North Dakota State University (NDSU), Oakland University (OU), Oral Roberts University (ORU), South Dakota State University (SDSU), Southern Utah University (SUU) and Western Illinois University (WIU).
