Hale becomes the fifth member
of coach Steve Curtis' recruiting class

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Centenary and head women’s basketball coach Steve Curtis announce the addition of Michelle Hale for the 2007-08 season.

A high-caliber forward, Hale averaged 17.3 points and 15.5 rebounds per game in her senior season at Rio Grande High School, in Albuquerque, N.M.

Showing a knack to grab rebounds around the basket, the 5-foot-10 Hale led the state in rebounding in both her junior and senior seasons with Rio Grande. Her addition will boast a Centenary team that finished near the bottom of the Mid-Continent Conference in rebounding margin in the 2006-07 season, outrebounded by an average of 6.1 rebounds per game.

Hale was named second team All-New Mexico, also named to the Albuquerque Tribune All-Metro Team following her senior season. In addition to leading the state in rebounding as a senior, she was amongst the top five scorers in Class 5A, the highest high school level in the state of New Mexico.

As Centenary prepares for its first season in the newly formed Summit League, Hale joins four other members of the 2007 recruiting class for the Ladies. Previously signing with Centenary were forwards Anne Farrell (Tulsa, Okla.) and Ashley Jackson (Shreveport), along with guard Karolina Zaloga (Olsztyn, Poland) and center Sarah Weiler (Yucca Valley, Calif.).
