Jackson State Too Strong for Ladies

JACKSON, Miss.The Centenary Ladies tennis team lost on the road to the Jackson State Tigers 6-1.


The Ladies struggled against the Tigers of Jackson State University in their singles and doubles competitions. Christina Majchrowicz lost to Fungisai Chambwe (6-2,6-3), Kristina Collins lost to Valentia Prado (6-1,6-1), Lindsay Ezell was defeated by Paulina Vargas (6-0,6-0), and Courtney Myers and Kate Buchanan lost to their opponents, Teegra Cross and Angela Rose (6-1,6-0; 6-1,6-0). Jennifer Majchrowicz was the only Ladies player to pull out a win against her opponent Geneva Warren (6-2,6-1).


In their doubles matches, the Lady Tigers continued to dominate the Ladies. Chambwe/Rose defeated C. Majchrowicz/Myers (8-6), Vargas/Cross defeated Ezell/Majchrowicz (8-0), and Prado/Warren defeated Collins/Buchanan (8-6).
