SHREVEPORT - Centenary cross country coach Dr. Shelley Armstrong has announced the signing of Jacquelyn Batson to a National Letter of Intent. Batson will join the Ladies running squad in the fall and brings the team's total number of newcomers to four. Previous signees for Armstrong include Mellyn Baker, Stephnie Canady, and Brittany Wilkens.

SHREVEPORT - Centenary cross country coach Dr. Shelley Armstrong has announced the signings of Stephnie Canady and Jonathan Martin to National Letters of Intent. Canady joins early signees Mellyn Baker and Brittany Wilkens on the Ladies roster, while Martin teams with early signee Robert Poole as newcomers to the Gents squad.

SHREVEPORT - Centenary cross country coach Dr. Shelley Armstrong has announced the signing of three runners to join the Ladies and Gents programs for the fall of 2008. Mellyn Baker and Brittany Wilkens have both signed National Letters of Intent to run for the Ladies, while Robert Poole will be a welcome addition to the Gents squad.

SHREVEPORT - Recently, local Caddo Physical Education teachers had an all day in-service at Huntington High School in Shreveport. This workshop was also part of the Louisiana Tour de Fitness Physical Education Tour set up and sponsored by the Louisiana Association for Health, P.E., Recreation, and Dance (LAHPERD) and the Louisiana Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sport. Dr. Shelley Armstrong, head coach of the Centenary men's and women's cross country teams, was requested to present cardiovascular lifetime activities for middle and high school students.

SHREVEPORT - The Centenary cross country teams sponsored the Healthy Kids Fun Run back on March 13, 2007, and now have received the Community Service Program of the Month Award from the Southwest Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls for the region of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

MACOMB, Ill. - The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their seasons by competing in the Summit League Championships hosted by Western Illinois University on Saturday. Both teams finished tenth, while Southern Utah took the men's title and shared the women's title with conference newcomer IPFW.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams both took part in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas on Saturday. The field was the biggest the Ladies and Gents will face all year as almost 500 individual runners entered the race.

SHREVEPORT - The Centenary Ladies cross country team placed three runners in the top 10 of the Centenary Invitational on Monday afternoon. Natalie Holcomb, Laura Way, and Ashley Fallin all turned in standout performances to help the Ladies to a second place team finish.

NATCHITOCHES, La. - The Centenary women's cross country team enjoyed another strong showing, finish third at the Northwestern State Invitational on Monday. The Ladies finished behind Louisiana-Lafayette and Grambling State powered by the running of freshman Natalie Holcomb's top 10 finish.

MONROE, La. - The Centenary cross country teams both split their four dual meets at the Louisiana-Monroe Invitational on Saturday, each going 2-2 on the day. The Gents defeated Louisiana-Monroe and Northwestern State while the Ladies knocked off Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State.

Ruston, La. - The Centenary women's cross country team got off to a fast start to their 2007 season with three dual meet wins at the Louisiana Tech Mook 4 on Saturday. Three Ladies placed inside the top 20 and all five Centenary counters broke the top 25.

RUSTON, La. - The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams open their 2007 respective seasons on Saturday at the 2007 Louisiana Tech Mook 4 Invitational. The Gents will start at 9 a.m. on their four-mile jaunt through Lincoln Parish Park while the Ladies' gun will sound at 9:45 a.m. for their four kilometer race.
