Centenary Women's Soccer Sunk by Louisiana-Monroe

MONROE, La. – For the first time in 2007 the Centenary women’s soccer team was shutout, dropping its match to Louisiana-Monroe 2-0 on Wednesday evening. The Ladies and Warhawks each had four shots on goal, while Monore had 12 overall and Centenary could only muster up five total shots.

 

Senior goalkeeper Ali Hilsher (Tulsa, Okla.) allowed an early goal and a late goal, but made two saves. Hilsher has made 14 saves this season and has 256 career stops as she moves to second place in the Centenary record books.

 

Hilsher’s counterpart between the pipes on Wednesday was Mallory George, who made four saves, making two stops in each half. The first goal for the Warhawks came at 11:58, while the second goal was netted in the 74th minute.

 

The Ladies are now 1-2 on the season and will host Texas State on Friday for their home opener at 7 p.m.
