Men's Soccer Hosts Bellhaven on Wednesday
Tuesday, September 11, 2007

SHREVEPORT – After being on the road for its first three matches of the regular season, the Centenary men’s soccer team will be at home on Wednesday to host Bellhaven. This will be the first of only four home matches the Gents have this season.

This season Centenary is 0-3, and has played a tough slate of games thus far. The early 2007 schedule has included Missouri Valley Conference Tournament participant Missouri State, and Alabama-Birmingham, who made it to the Conference USA Tournament semifinals last season.

The 2007 Gents are led by junior Aaron Volanski and freshman Josh Gomillion, who have each scored a goal. Defensively for Centenary, senior goalkeeper James Speed has seven saves in 225 minutes of action.

This season Bellhaven is 2-2-1, and is led by Brett Clifton, who has scored two goals and has given one assist. In goal for the Blazers has been Julien Henriques, who has played in all five matches and has allowed seven goals in 480 minutes.

After Wednesday’s home match against Bellhaven at 7 p.m., the Gents will be back on the road to play at Western Kentucky’s Tournament on Friday and Sunday.
