SHREVEPORT – Falling down 3-0 midway through the first half proved to be to big of a hole for the Centenary women’s soccer team, as they fell to Northwestern State on Friday night 3-2. Sophomore Brittany O’Neal continues to have the hot foot for the Ladies as she collected a goal and an assist.

The Demons scored their first two goals of the evening off the foot of Erin Herbert, while Madeline Hall hit pay dirt in the 28th minute. However, right before the break O’Neal nailed her fourth goal of the year, as she stole the ball and raced 30 yards to bring the match within two.

The contest remained 3-1 until the 79 minute when sophomore Stefani Robbs scored from O’Neal’s indirect kick. The Ladies had one more late opportunity to tie the match, but freshman Catie Depew’s shot went high and wide.

In goal for Centenary was senior Ali Hilsher, who made six saves, while NSU’s keeper Johnna Klohoker made three saves. Hilsher made four saves in the first period, while stopping two in the second.

Centenary falls back to .500 on the season at 3-3-0 and will be back in action on Sunday to host Arkansas at 1 p.m.. The match will be webcast on Arkansas website at
