Faitz and Williams Lead Centenary in First Round

LAKE CHARLES, La. – A four-over-par 76 for Centenary freshman Nick Faitz and sophomore Tyler Williams on Sunday put duo in a five-way tie for eighth at the Moe O’Brien Intercollegiate hosted by McNeese State. Faitz and Williams shot identical front (39) and back (37) nine’s, which put them 11 strokes behind the leader, Sigmundur Masson of McNeese.


Tied for 17th is sophomore John Hogan (38-42, 80), who was +8 in the first round, while freshmen Diego Martin-Perez (42-40, 82) and Ryan Sparks (44-40, 84) round out the Gents scoring as they are 20th and 21st respectively.    


After the first round McNeese State leads with a team score of 288, which is even par, while Central Arkansas is +3 in second place. Rounding out the first round team scores is Nicholls State, who is +16, while Centenary is 26 strokes behind McNeese State in fourth place.


The second round will be played on Monday, while the tournament will conclude on Tuesday.
