Williams Shoots 12 Over for Eighth Place Finish

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Sophomore Tyler Williams’ 12 over par was Centenary’s top finisher at the Moe O’Brien Intercollegiate, hosted by McNeese State on Tuesday. In the three round event, Williams shot a 76 in round one, 77 in the second round and 75 during the final day. As a team, the Gents finished in fourth after shooting a 945, which was 81 over par, while Central Arkansas won the team title with an 879 (+15).  

 

Following Williams’ eighth place finish was sophomore Nick Faitz, who tied for 17th, after shooting a 21 over par (76-79-82, 237). Classmate John Hogan placed right behind Faitz and shot a +26 (80-80-80, 240).

 

Rounding out the Centenary golfers were freshmen Ryan Sparks (84-77-81, 242), who was 29 over par and finished 20th, while Diego Martin-Perez was in 22nd place after shooting a +34 (82-85-83, 250).

 

Behind Central Arkansas was McNeese State, who was just seven strokes behind the Bears with an 886. Nicholls State was +48 and finished with a team score of 912.

 

The next action for the Gents will be on Sept. 30 thru Oct. 2 at UT-Arlington.
