MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Centenary (1-8-0) men’s soccer team had three shots on goal on Saturday, but it was not enough as it fell to Memphis (5-1-2) 5-0. Sophomore Todd Faulkinberry and freshmen Josh Armstrong and Dragan Hinic each put a ball on goal to help lead the Gents offense.

Centenary freshman goalkeeper Rennie Walker had his first start of the season between the pipes and made three saves, but allowed five goals. The Memphis keepers, Tyler Strom and Michael Goodlett also made three saves, but Goddlett had a team-best two.

The Gents had opportunities to ball away as they had nine shots on the evening, four in the first half and five in the second. The Tigers meanwhile had five shots in the first period, but in the second stanza had an impressive 10 shots.

Centenary will be back on the field Friday when it travels to IPFW for Summit League action.
