ROCHESTER, Mich. – A goal in the third minute by Oakland (5-6-1, 4-2-0) was all it needed as the Centenary (4-8-1, 0-2-1) women’s soccer team fell 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Summit League action. The Ladies were led offensively by freshman Candace Rushing, who had three of the teams’ six shots.

Senior Ali Hilsher led the Centenary defense with seven saves in eight chances, which is three shy of her season best. Oakland’s keeper, Kim Herbst, who had five saves total, made three stops in the second half.

The last real threat Centenary put on Oakland was in the 63rd minute when sophomore Kortney Causey, who had a shot go high.

The Ladies will end their three match road trip next weekend when they travel through the Hoosier State to play IPFW on Friday and IUPUI on Sunday.
