Mims Leads Ladies Golf at Troy Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Junior Chloe Mims (74-77, 151) tied for second to help lead the Centenary (321-321, 642) women’s golf team to a 13th place finish at the Troy Women’s Invitational. The Ladies finished 31 strokes behind the winner Jacksonville State (304-307), who shot a 611 for the two-round event.


Mims completed the tournament just one stroke behind Daniele Dunlop of Nicholls State, who shot a two-day total of 150 for the individual title.


Sophomore Jessica Garza (79-79, 158) had a top 35 finish as she tied for 32nd after shooting a 14 over par. Classmate Leigh Newton (82-83, 165) tied for 62nd after she shot a +10 and 11 in each round.


Another pair of sophomores, Tracy Williams (86-82) and Bethany Cox (90-86) round out the Centenary golfers, after they shot a 168 and 176 respectively.


The Troy Invitational was the final fall event for Centenary, as it will begin its spring season at the McNeese Invitational on Feb. 10.
