Ladies Back on the Road Saturday

SHREVEPORT – Looking to move closer to .500, the Centenary women’s basketball team will play at Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday. This will be the last road game for two weeks for Ladies, who will host Northwestern State on Wednesday and Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday.


Centenary (1-3) is led by junior Cierra Bush, who has averages 16 points per game and 7.8 rebound a contest, while freshmen Ashley Jackson and Anne Farrell chip with in 8.5 and eight points a game.


As a team the Ladies defense is holding opponents to 35 percent from the field and 24 percent from outside. Centenary continues to out rebound its foes as well, as the Ladies average 43.5 rebounds and opponents grab just 41.8.


Southeastern (2-2) also has a good defense, as it has forced its four opponents to 23 turnovers a game. On the other side of the floor, Southeastern’s offense is shooting .438 percent and averages 66.5 points a game.


Leading the Lions is Kristy Carlin, who scores 13.7 points a game, while Brooke Necaise and Zevy Ivory chime in with 13 and 12 points each. On the glass, Ivory leads the team with 28 rebounds.


After Saturday’s game, Centenary will return home to play Northwestern State on Tuesday as part of doubleheader with the men. The game with the Lady Demons begins at 5 p.m. in the Gold Dome.
