Gents End Non-conference Schedule at Hawai'i
Saturday, December 29, 2007

HONOLULU, HI—After an eight-day lay-off for Christmas break, the Centenary men’s basketball team returns to action on Sunday. The Gents will be in Honolulu, Hawaii, for their final non-conference tilt of the season, a 9:05 p.m. central time zone start against the University of Hawai’i.

Centenary (7-6) is guaranteed to finish its pre-Summit League schedule at .500 or better for the first time since the 2003-04 season. Quality wins over Texas Tech, SMU, Northwestern State, and Louisiana Tech have afforded the Gents this opportunity, but Centenary has dropped its previous two games to North Texas and Georgia Tech by an average of 33.5 points.

Looking to end its two-game slide, Centenary will tackle a Hawai’i team that is 3-8 on the season and just 1-4 at home in December. The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a 79-69 loss to New Mexico at home on Thursday.

Hawai’i leads the all-time series 11-7, but the two teams have not met since the 1978-79 season. The ‘Bows won both games in Honolulu that year.

There will be no Centenary broadcast of the game, but fans can find the University of Hawai’i audio feed  at www.Sportsradio1420.com.
