SHREVEPORT – After splitting a pair of games during its two-game homestand, the Centenary women’s basketball will travel to the upper Midwest to play Summit League foes IPFW on Saturday and Oakland on Monday.

Centenary, which lost its last game to ORU, will play conference newcomer IPFW (4-10, 2-2 Summit League) at the historic Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum at 3 p.m. Centenary and IPFW met twice during the 2002-03 season when both teams were playing an independent schedule. The Mastodons defeated Centenary 91-69 at Fort Wayne and 77-75 in Shreveport.

In the last two games for Centenary, sophomore guard Bethany Joseph has played on a different level. The New Iberia, La., native has averaged 22.5 points per game and tied the school record for 3-point field goals made in a game (6). She also passed Laura Kizyte for fifth all-time at Centenary in 3-point field goals made in career with 67.

The Ladies continued to be led by freshman Anne Farrell, who has scored a team-high 133 points, while her classmate Ashley Jackson has scored 129 points. However, on the defense side of the court, sophomore Leslie Forest is third on the team in rebounding, as she pulls down five a game. Farrell and Jackson are first and second in rebounds, as they Dynamic Duo average 6.8 and 5.1 per game respectively.

Saturday’s opponent IPFW comes into the contest on a seven game slide, losing to Detroit on Wednesday, 74-58, to extend its streak. Mastodons’ guard Johanna Carlisle-Lewis leads the league and team in scoring, averaging 18.8 points a game, but she shoots just 34 percent from the field.

On Monday, the Ladies will take the short trip on I-69 to battle Oakland (10-4, 3-1 Summit League), who has won seven of its last nine games. This season the Golden Grizzlies have played four teams ranked in the top 25, defeating one of them, No. 21 Florida State, 85-75.

Oakland is led by Jessica Pike, who scores 17.9 points per game, while Melissa Jeltema and Hanna Reising average 13 and 11.5 points respectively.

The games will be broadcast on and on The Ladies will return home to play IUPUI next Saturday and then welcome Western Illinois Monday.
