COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The Centenary gymnastics team completed its two-meet sweep of the Air Force Academy by defeating the Falcons 190.625 to 188.400 on Sunday afternoon. The Ladies had seven different performers grab a total of 11 top three finishes in the victory.

Meredith Smith bounced back to her USAG National Champion form on the vault after a disappointing run on Friday. The senior posted a 9.750 in Sunday’s contest to take home first place individually. Freshmen Alyssa Zawieja and Laura Loy nabbed second and third place respectively with scores of 9.675 and 9.600, while sophomore Courtney Hawkins tied Loy for third.

On the bars, junior Mandy Bennett and freshman Tara Sandoval tied for second place, each scoring a 9.575 for their routines. Freshman newcomer Marisa Schneider continued to impress as she took first place on the balance beam with a 9.800. Meanwhile, Loy captured her second top three finish by grabbing second place with a 9.725.

Schneider led the way again on the floor exercise as her 9.700 effort was good enough for second place. Loy again finished in the top group with a 9.600 on the event and Schneider also landed in the second place in the all-around with a combined score of 37.925.

Air Force teammates Michelle Denise and Abbey Rogers garnered first place on the bars (9.600) and floor (9.850) respectively, while Rogers also took home the all-around title with a score of 38.250.

The Ladies will receive a short rest before returning to action on the road Saturday at Illinois-Chicago.
