SHREVEPORT—The Centenary gymnastics team travels north this weekend for a pair of meets in the state of Missouri. The Ladies will take on the 14th ranked Missouri Tigers on Friday at 7 p.m. before battling the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Centenary is coming off its best team outing of the season in a loss to Illinois State last Friday. The Ladies posted season-highs on the beam (48.000), bars (48.150), and floor (48.625) in addition to their overall score of 191.825.

Individually, Meredith Smith won the vault with a score of 9.825 and Tara Sandoval captured first place on the bars with a dazzling 9.900 routine. Marisa Schneider placed second on the bars and third on the floor with respective scores of 9.800 and 9.775.

Missouri has won three of its four meets this season, losing only to Nebraska. The Tigers are averaging a score of 194.744 as a team.

Southeast Missouri State, better known to some as SEMO, is 2-1 on the season with wins over Kentucky and Illinois State. The Redhawks only defeat came at the hands of Iowa. SEMO is averaging a team score of 193.44 and its top performer, Sandra Blake, has twice been named Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week.
