ARLINGTON, Texas—The Centenary men’s tennis team traveled to the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex on Valentine’s Day to square off against Texas-Arlington. The Mavericks defeated the Gents 7-0 in handing Centenary its second team loss of the season.

Centenary (0-2) put up a fight and several Gents had moments of glory, but in the end, UTA (2-4) proved to be too tough. Jacob Dawson nearly came back in his second set after losing to Nishant Hari, 6-1, in the opening set of their sixth flight match. Dawson came up just short, posting a 6-4 score in the final set.

Mark Rodgman, in the first slot, and Gerry Lozano, in the fourth slot, both lost by scores of 6-0, 6-3. Oscar Medellin and Seva Kostelanetz both lost 6-0, 6-2 in their third and fifth flight matches respectively.
