Kostelanetz and Dawson Take Singles Matches at ASU

LORMAN, Miss.—Centenary men’s tennis team members Seva Kostelanetz and Jacob Dawson won their fifth and sixth flight matches at Alcorn, despite the team losing to the Braves 5-2 overall. The Gents doubles tandem of Alejandro Ahuja and Kostelanetz also picked up a win.


Kostelanetz kocked off German Castillo 7-5, 6-0 and Dawson took down Gordon Reaux 6-0, 6-2. Mark Rodgman lost a heartbreaker in the top slot to Aziz Abdurazzakov 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 and Gerry Lozano was defeated 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth flight. Oscar Medellin lost to Michael Onada 6-3, 6-0.


In doubles action, Centenary’s top team of Rodgman and Dawson were discarded 8-3 before Medellin and Lozano went down 8-4. Ahuja and Kostelanetz picked up the 8-3 win in the third flight.


The Gents return to action on March 1st at Millsaps.
