FARGO, N.D.—Brett Winkelman scored 30 points as one of four North Dakota State players to score in double figures on Thursday night. The Bison outscored Centenary 21-7 off of turnovers and pulled away in the second half to take the 91-73 win over the Gents in Summit League action.

Centenary (9-20, 3-14 Summit) could not find a rhythm on offense, shooting just 33 percent from the field in the first half. North Dakota State (15-13, 9-8 Summit) threatened to pull away several times in the opening period, but the Gents responded to go into the half trailing by just eight at 40-32.

The Bison kept their lead in the second half and sank seven of their eight made 3-pointers over the final 20 minutes to seal the win.

Nick Stallings led the Gents with 23 points and eight boards. The junior made good on 8-of-14 shot attempts and 6-of-8 free throws. Junior Lance Hill netted 14 points to go with six rebounds and Tyrone Hamilton finished with 12 points, converting on just 4-of-18 field goal attempts.

Winkelman’s 30 points were a game-high for NDSU. The forward went 9-of-13 from the floor and dropped in 10-of-11 from the charity stripe. Josh Vaughan scored 14 points, while the Bison’s leading scorer, Ben Woodside, scored just 12 points. He came into the game averaging 20 points per game.

Centenary wraps up its regular season schedule on Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. game on the road at South Dakota State.
