SHREVEPORT—The Centenary gymnastics team scored its highest team score of the season with a 193.125 on Sunday in the Gold Dome. However, their score was not enough to defeat the No. 8 LSU Tigers, who posted a team effort of 197.050.

LSU brought its stellar lineup to Shreveport on Sunday for the fans to see, highlighted by Ashleigh Clare-Kearney and Susan Jackson. The duo did not disappoint as Clare-Kearney finished first on the vault (9.950) and second on the floor exercise (9.950), while Jackson won the all-around (39.525), took first on the bars (9.950) and floor (9.975), and placed second on the vault (9.875).

Centenary showed what it was capable of by posting several of its best team event scores of the season. The Ladies finished less than a point behind LSU on the vault (49.075-48.250) and the floor (49.475-48.925). The Tigers pulled away on the beam, where they put together a 49.025 compared to a 47.550 for Centenary.

The sophomore placed third on the floor with a 9.875 effort and ranked fourth on the vault at 9.775. Other top five finishes for the Ladies included Meredith Smith on the vault (5th-9.750), Julia Cornelius on the beam (5th-9.725), and Marisa Schneider in the all-around (2nd-38.225).
