Ladies & Gents Pick Up Wins at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss.—The Centenary men’s and women’s tennis teams each picked up a win over Millsaps on the road. The Ladies defeated the Lady Majors 6-1, while the Gents discarded their counterparts 6-3.


The Ladies put on a dominating performance in taking every match but one. Kayleigh Sullivan and Gretchen Ashley won their top flight doubles match 8-6 and Courtney Myers and Kate Buchanan dismissed their opponents 8-5. Lindsay Ezell and Jennifer Majchrowicz rounded out the sweep with an 8-5 victory as well.


Individually, Ezell won a close match in the second slot, 9-8, over Beth Fossen. Sullivan cruised to an easy 8-1 win, Ashley recorded a 6-0, 6-2 triumph, and Majchrowicz’s 6-0, 6-1 win came in the fifth flight. Kate Buchanan emerged with a win also, playing number six, with a tough 7-6, 0-6, 7-5 victory.


On the men’s side, the tandem of Mark Rodgman and Jacob Dawson got things rolling with a 9-7 doubles win and Alejandro Ahuja and Seva Kostelanetz won 8-2.


Rodgman won again in the top singles position, emerging 6-1, 6-3. Gerry Lozano (6-1, 6-4), Kostelanetz (6-4, 7-5) and Dawson (6-1, 6-0) all took home individual victories as well for the Gents.
