Centenary's Thacker Tabbed Pitcher of the Week, Again
Monday, March 3, 2008

ELMHURST, Ill.—For the second week in a row, The Summit League has selected Centenary’s Ryan Thacker as its Pitcher of the Week. It is the fourth time overall that the sophomore has received the award in her short career.

Thacker tossed 12 shutout innings for the Ladies last week in recording a pair of wins. The right-handed hurler began the week with a one-hit performance over five innings in a defeat of Grambling and then followed that up with a complete game, one-hit shutout over Louisiana Tech. The win over Tech was her second shutout over the Lady Techsters in a week.

Thacker struck out nine batters, while surrendering only one base on balls for the week. She has now pitched 13 consecutive scoreless innings and has only allowed two runs in her last 19 innings in the circle.

Thacker and the rest of the Centenary team were to host Grambling in a doubleheader on Tuesday, but poor weather conditions in the Shreveport area have forced the games to be rescheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m.
