SHREVEPORT—The Centenary tennis teams split a pair of matches with Grambling on Tuesday at the Centenary Tennis Complex. The Gents won their tight battle 4-3, while the Ladies lost to Grambling 7-0.

The doubles team of Oscar Medellin and Gerry Lozano started off strong for the Gents, winning their match-up 8-0 in the second slot. However, Grambling bounced back to take the two remaining doubles matches to earn the point.

Mark Rodgman outlasted Ryan Charles in the top spot 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 for the Gents. Grambling claimed wins in the second and third flight singles matches, but Centenary nabbed the fourth, fifth, and sixth flights with wins by Lozano, Seva Kostelanetz, and Jacob Dawson respectively for the team victory.

On the women’s side, Grambling proved to be too much. The Ladies secured a win in the number two doubles slot behind Courtney Myers and Jennifer Majchrowicz with an 8-6 victory. But, the Lady Tigers took the other doubles contests and all of the individual tilts.

The Ladies return to play on March 20th when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take part in the first Summit League cluster of the year. The Gents are off until March 28th when they play in their first Summit League cluster of the season, in Kansas City, Mo.
