Thacker Receives Third Summit League Award

ELMHURST, Ill.—Centenary softball player Ryan Thacker has been awarded The Summit League Pitcher of the Week award by the conference office for her work in the circle from March 9th through March 16th. It is the third time this season that Thacker has received the accolade.

 

The sophomore hurler went 3-0 last week in a pair of starts against conference foe IUPUI and a relief appearance against South Alabama. The Ladies went 4-0 on the week overall and improved their home record to a perfect 7-0. Centenary has also won 12 of its last 14 games overall.

 

In her win over South Alabama, she pitched two solid innings out of the bullpen, giving up just one hit while striking out two. In the first game of the series with IUPUI, Thacker threw a complete-game shutout with 11 strikeouts. She closed out the week with a win in the series finale against the Jaguars, allowing one run on two hits in five innings of work.

 

For the week, Thacker posted an ERA of 0.54 with 16 strikeouts over 13 innings.

 

The Ladies return to Summit League play on Tuesday with a doubleheader at UMKC beginning at 3 p.m. The series will conclude on Wednesday with a single game at noon.
