Listen to Centenary Softball and Baseball Live for $4.95
Thursday, March 20, 2008

SHREVEPORT—The Centenary Athletics Department is proud to announce the opportunity for Ladies and Gents fans to listen to selected softball and baseball games over the internet for the remainder of the season. Fans can sign up at and receive all broadcasts for both teams for $4.95 per month.

Shreveport Times assistant sports editor, Roy Lang III, has volunteered to serve as the voice of the Ladies softball team. Fans may have heard Lang bringing you some test softball broadcasts already this season that were free of charge, but due to costs on the production end, a small charge will be needed to continue all broadcasting.

For the Gents baseball games, former Centenary pitcher David McElroy has stepped up to the plate to serve as the lead broadcaster. McElroy is in his final year as a student at Centenary and aspires to perhaps work in the broadcast industry.

The broadcast schedules will depend entirely on the schedules of the volunteer broadcasters. Centenary will do its best to find replacements when the primary broadcasters are unavailable.

The softball broadcasts kick off this weekend with the Ladies’ three-game Summit League series with Oakland. The schedule calls for a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. and a single game on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Gents baseball broadcasts will begin on March 29th with a doubleheader against Grambling starting at 1 p.m.

Fans who cannot listen live can go back anytime and listen to the games on-demand. Files will be archived within a few days after each broadcast.
